I think those old guys are just mad that they have wasted their whole lives just flying in circles. The flight line bouncer really needed some Valium, and the Bros weren't the ones terrorizing the parking lot. Look out another old man and his plane is out of control, he either can't see or he forgot to turn the radio on.

Hey Gordo.........

Dude...I was over at Paul's Thursday night and I forgot to give him your card! Jeremy was there too. On the way over I even took it out and put it in my visor so I wouldn't forget it. Man really sorry bout that. I hope you didn't leave your good one at SMALL. What is your next stop on the Magical Mystery Tour? -or- Would you prefer snail mail?

Sorry Bro............

Yep, it's true, I am holding back. paul should share on the details of his latest MAJOR success and the trouble/victory at SMALL I'll do later today probably in the ProBro site. We did have one Hell of a good time, but there was lots of conflicts and more midairs than I've ever seen!!!

Yup, we all had a great time. Razorback, Gordo, 2fast, Paul, Seelof and myself 3-d'd our parts (noses razorback?) off the whole weekend.

At the indoor fly Friday night, the CD did a great job allowing 3D'ing and the floaty stuff even flying time (was not as true for the outdoor flying on Saturday).

Gordo flew his new Edge, and Paul and Gord tore up the gym with their foamies.

I flew my 37 gram 4ch Micro Edgeling and got pretty good success with it. It does hover and harrier. I had a few control problems because the actuators I was using were not quite powerful enough to drive the ailerons, but it does fly well. Or maybe it did until I flew it knife edge into Gordo's prop. Most fun I have had in a mid-air in a long time . Gordos prop cut my plane into a million little pieces....... hehehe.

We had a good time a the indoor.

Then we moved outdoors again for Saturday. Again, we 3d'ed our butts off.

Paul finished his new E-Taco (I'll let him fill in the details on his killer new bird). Its kinda plain in these pics but I think it looks great considering how it came to life. I began framing this plane at about 10pm on Thursday night, and Paul finished covering and rigging it Saturday morning.
It kicks arse. [8D]

I also got to fly Gary Jones new Mix18 (Gary took these pics while I flew). This is an incredible little plane. Its a 50 gram 4 ch, brushless powered shockflyer styled foamy. It hovers incredibly well, harriers and does the coolest high alpha knife edges you have ever seen. I flew this thing quite often on Friday afternoon and a the indoor. (interesting for me as it was on the wrong mode transmitter- mode2 instead of my mode1 usual). The brushless is still kinda super secret, and in development. The radio gear used 1.7gram proportional servos!

2-fast also finished his new Edgeling. The little bird looked great and flew very well. Thanks to 2fast for helping me with 'editing' the kit for this plane......

I spent so much time flying that I did not get many pictures, but I had a killer time.

I've slept since then so the fury of how we were treated at SMALL has worn off. I guess I'll spare the details but to sy we were harrassed is a serious understatement. I knew we were in trouble on my first flight (30 sec in to it) when the field marshal yelled at me to move my 3D over the tall grass. I said "Dude, these are all small planes, I can't see it that far away." The tall grass was about twice as far away as the average runway is wide. I'd be hard pressed to fly my 40 size birds that far away. That set the theme for the weekend.

After all day Fri and half of Sat everyoine was tired of it. The dude wanted to control everones flight to the detail. This was a big event and there were all kinds of planes. Many flew full out slower than we would harrier. These powered kits were going up and down the runway at a snales pace, as were these little electric Cessnas that could do entire flights in about 10 feet. The last time he came over to yell at me I said "dude, what's the difference between what I'm doing and what those guys do?" (He was clearly ant 3-D and from what others said he simply can't fly himself) well, to say he "went off" is mild. He started screaming, cussing, sounded like he just lost his mind! I flew out the tank and while annother bro got my plane I went over and confronted him. after I totally blew him away, he finaly said "Ok, you're right, I am unproffesional and childish. If you don't like it, just leave."

So I went over to the CD (very cool older dude) and told him how the other guy went about this whole thing. In the mean time Paul (Who had done his share of antagonizing LOL) did some little thing over the runway and our buddy BLASTED him. Poor Paul had no idea this had happened!!! It was UGLY MAN!!

So what was the victory? The CD spent some time talking to the other dude, and VIOLA.......they said "hey, why don't you guys go over to the control line area and 3D all you want?" SO WE DID!!!!!!!!!!!! for a couple of hours we flew our sacks off and noone messed with us!!!!

Just keep in mind this was not a 3D arena!!! These people are into VERY SMALL planes. Most of the planes were under .074 size. GORDO, RAZORBACK58, and I (2FAST4U) did our best to do the BRO's proud. We each had a Mini 3D and pulled off a 3 plane hover several times. It really pissed them off, but oh well!!!!! We did it anyway. Then I broke my Mini in 1/2 and GORDO and RAZORBACK violated me!!!!! (Hovered over my dead plane) It was GREAT. The croud loved it too.

Local Ch 11 T.V station showed lots of PAUL's new E-TACO. That was cool too. All in all, for a really big event, it was run well, but the line boss was a super turd!!!!

I called it our little CINCO-de-BRO'O gathering, since there were only 5 of us there, out of around 100 registered pilots.

Gary was standing next to me and said something like "I think I heard that guy say if he does that one more time..." But wasn't sure who he was talking to... Didn't know about the earlier confrontation.... So I wanted to verify the situation. I did a low slow harrier up the field pretty close to us... The guy came screaming at me, saying this was the last time he was going to warn me.... I said "Duuude... what's with this last time stuff, you never warned me the first time..." He said some more stuff... I told him I should just take my stuff and go home.... But then I thought that's what he'd want.... So I just followed an B-17 around the pattern low and slow for three laps... When the guy landed I considered violating him.... But I didn't want to pour gas on the fire.

Anyway.... The CD came over and talked to me and told me that this flight line boss was not known for his people skills... He was pretty conciliatory and we talked some and tried to gain an understanding of what would work for everyone... He was basically saying that if we kept it out past the center of the runway, we'd be okay.... Then I told him that if someone had a big scale war bird that they would like to fly, I'd be happy to land and let them do their thing... I respect the amount of work that goes into those birds and wouldn't want to cause anyone to be nervous or have a problem...

They ended up conceeding the control line space to us which was very cool. I was very pleased that Ron Stanfield, the CD worked this out. He did an excellent job of keeping things cool at the indoor.. and he did a great job of trying to make sure every one got to do their own thing. Kudos to him. I even went over and thanked the pit boss for the use of the control line circle.

This is a very good example of guys with different flying styles working together to peacefully co-exist...

Still recovering from the E Taco building experience... Many thanks to Jeremy for his help... Never could have gotten it done with out him!! However, he's younger and his body will stand more abuse... I'll post some pictures on the e taco thread in a little bit...

Paul, you make it all sound so civilized. It was like the Cold war, just one more raised voice or tail toch from NUCLEAR Bros!!!!![:@] LOL WE did have a good time, and I learned new moves. Anybody ever seen rafter triming? Ask paul......and how we he can fly THROUGH the rafters!!!

Paul, are you gonna put like 12 little plane stickers on your electric to memorialize the kills you had at the indoor? Wow, what carnage!!! But as you said, the CD was great, the pilots were great, everyone had fun and noone *****ed at the indoor. My favorite momant was when I dorked and Paul was about to violate me and I pulled a move I learned from Jess.......I sprinted out onto the court and snatched Paul's plane out of the air!! The crowd loved that!!

Then the next flight Paul made sure I had to look around his TR'n plane to see my own, but I didn't mind, it was REALLY hot in the gym and his prop blast was very refreshing!!

I had a blast at SMALL in spite of our knuckle dragging friend on the flight line! There's nothing like getting together with some Bros and showing the circle fliers how to do it! LOL The best part was that the Pro Bro camp took home thier raffle prize! When I went up to collect my new .25 size trainer, I told them that I was going to go fuel it and see if it would hover! They were pretty cool about it.

I can't wait to get together with the Bros again! Enjoyed the flying, fellowship, and the trip to Outback! Matchless, I hope that you got home unscathed riding home with Pauly!

By the way, does anyone know where I can get some Lazy Bee kill stickers for my Mustang?

Maybe we should make some flight line safety man stickers for your plane!

I stand rock solid opposed to being violated.....as demonstrated by my 10 yard sprint in the gym....

I'll work on some stickers...but you know we'll have to explain them someday....."Yep, each of those represent the times I've been yelled at for 3D'n over the runway.....the red ones are for the times I violated the guy who yelled at me....."
