yep i got it but ran into some trouble after hitting my tb03 into a tire which crushed the front diff gear (i think its because of the spool) so i'm awaiting parts from hong kong as my lhs are typical traxxas/associated guys and don't carry a good range of tamiya parts. So i will be putting it into my tamiya df02 buggy soon and see what i can get out of it. It won't go as fast because A. it's a buggy and B. the ESC manual recommends these motor/lipo combinations.<div>

true, i got a bit carried away with one of my other rc projects that i didn't spend enough on spares for this car so the thing that broke happened to be something i didn't have. I am starting to think its better to have lots of spares than lots of hop ups.</p>

Yeah. But the longer you have the car, the more spares you end up getting along the years. I have enough spares to almost have a second car, but that's three years plus.

well i got the ezrun and i am very happy with the power, im using 2s on my df02 and doing flips 6 ft high. Got to say the df02 is handling well to abuse. Just have to wait for the tb03 parts so i can use 3s

the cup racer is the closest to scale 1/10 cars, they are pretty much like 1/12 in size. can you run 6000kv on it?

You probably won't need that much power. The CR is the same size as the Tamiya MO series, use the same bodies, but I find (could be different, as CR's are AWD, while MO's are FWD) the MO5 I have won't handle anythinglower thana 15T brushed motor (I had a CC brushless in it for a while, with a 4600Kv motor, and it was too much). Actually, it zips pretty well. I think it'll hold it's own with the CR.
Since the CR doesn't have much in the way of high-performance option parts, I'm not so sure you wouldn't be replacing parts because of the excessive power of the 6000Kv motor. If you have the option, and really want BL power, drop the Kv rating down some. And keep an eye out for the diff gears and bevels on the driveshaft.

I don't know how I missed this list (!!), but to be completely fair with your rankings, the Ofna JL10e does not come with a plastic chassis, it's fiberglass, as are it's upper deck and shock towers. It comes at a low price, but technically is not a plastic chassis on-road.

Small thing, but I thought I'd point it out.

yeah i should of pointed out basicicly anything that not carbon fibre, i actually like the ofna very much now as i didn't like it as much before, i wouldve ranked it 5th but the parts suppore isn't to scratch like my tamiya tb03

Yah, I agree on parts support, but to their credit, the chassis doesn't actually need much.

I will be getting another one this year, and make it my carpet burner. It is a tight, fast chassis!

I had one before, and I replaced all the ballcups with rod-ends and hollow balls, and it tightened up the steering even more!

EDIT:

If you do get one, unscrew the battery cage and toss it. Use velcro to mount the battery. The cage makes it near impossible to remove and install the battery quickly, and removing it will lighten the chassis a bit.

i think the ofna will be my next project that way i can have 2 shafties. BTW check out the tamiya tb03, very good however u need alloy dampers, cf reinforced chassis, alloy steering kit, carbon steering thingy, spool/oneway diff and a alloy ball cup set to make the most out of it, the car has been known for one of the best 17.5t bl cars and very good basher if u want to. By no means its designed as a drifter, the tb03d was only made for those who wanted something more advanced than a tt01 i think.

Heheh! I pretty much stay with carbon chassis models now. The last plastic chassis I had (well, I still have) is the HPISprint 2, and it even went carbon last year.

When I do the Ofna, it will be the only shaftie in the stable. Ithink I'll go TC6 after that. Don't know.....will have to see.........

I'd say the ta05v.2 is better than a tc6 but thats just my oppinion

Reason i am a shaftie head because i just love the instant power you get when exiting a corner and that noise as it whirls by is to die for. But i haveto admit they are pretty hard to drive in mod races lol

It's all personal preference about shaft vs. belt, as both have their faults and good points, much like power systems.

I still prefer the stiffness of a carbon or graphite/fiberglas chassis, though. Adjustments are solid, you can see the difference every time you make one, and you can also dial in or dial out flex, to suit a particulartrack.
For me, at least, the ability to obtain a carbon chassis for any model I get is important. Exotek has a carbon chassis kit for the TA05 v.2 you should consider, if you get one.

from what i know, tech racing and 3 racing also have caron chassis for the ta05v.2 and tb03. I think the carbon reinforeced polymer chassis (frp) i bought for my tb03 is stronger and lighter and stiffer than fibreglass though. But if i want a carbon chassis car i will definetly go trf417, it will cost the same to get a cf chassis for a ta05 and all the hop ups.

Good point.

The Associated TC6 would be a good choice, as it doesn't need much, and is less expensive than the TRF417, though.

any chassis would be good as long as you are a good driver. BTW chinese online shop will have a good selection of OFNA JL10E parts?

It states that they don't sell to the public, but maybe you can get info on where, and there is a listing of option parts, but I don't think they make any for the JL10e, as I said before, it doesn't really need any.
The stuff I did to mine was just to lighten/ tighten it up, that's all. Otherwise, it was just install the electronics, a body,and go!
