Default rebuilding carb question

when resealing a carb should I oil the o-rings before I put them in?

I know in other circumstances it's beneficial.

Any other not so obvious advice?

carb is from a pro 15

I usually put a light coat of grease on the o-rings for the mixture needles. The carb base o-rings I leave dry.

I do use a bit of RTV around the upper base of the carb so it seals to the block when I insert the carb. Put it on the carb, not the block, or you might accidently push some into the crank area.

I also cover the pinch bolt (both sides) with RTV once it is assembled.

Many use associated's green slime to lube the needle o-rings...this helps seal them, and makes it a little easier to install them if its a tight fit.  Grease works too.

Ya those blue wires on the EZ Start are not exactly the greatest at glowing things. So a glow igniter will get the job done right.

agreed. I ditched my ez start wires for a glowplug ignitor on my jato. what you lose in convenience, you make up for in wondering why the heck the engine isnt turning over because the glow mechanism isnt working.....
