Planning on buying TT-01r, some Questions.
First of all, I'm planning on buying a TT-01r to make it into a drifter. ( http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXKSG3&P=ML )
I was wondering, what size body does it use? 190mm? 200mm? 300mm? I'm thinking 190, but not sure.
And, should i buy ball bearings seperate, or are the bearings it comes with good?
And also, any other hop-ups I should get? (I know there is a Drifting forum, but this isn't really about drifting.)

RE: Planning on buying TT-01r, some Questions.
just checked on tamiya usa and MSRP: $315.00 (i know it's the MSRP, so it'll probably be a bit cheaper)
I think that's a little out of my league for now. It's my first R/C drifter so most likely it's going to go through a lot of crashes before I get the hang of it. And I'm not even sure how i'll like R/C Drifting. Thanks for the suggestion though LB. And that car looks amazing, but that, plus it needs and ESC, reciever, etc, can end up costing me a bit. I can get the tt-01R running with ESC and RX for under 200.

190mm on the bodyshell m8 even tho 200mm will work with offset wheels.
defo on the metal bearings the race version of the tt-01 has a good few hopups included.
If ur building a drifter get some drift tyres or pvc ones i use the pvc ones and they rock
lots of info in the drift forums dont be shy drop by soon.
hope this helps ya bro [8D]

Cool thanks, yeah I've been in the drift forums a bunch. Which bearings do you recommend? I think it's better to buy the TT-01R because my LHS has it for 128 while the TT01D is 130 and the TT01R seems to have nicer hop-ups. I plan on drifting on ABS or PVC, not sure which, will probably try both though. Thanks for the info on the body!

no probs bro
as for the bearings ive been looking at the race version it says
so im guessing it comes with metal bearings so alls good there and u got the optional spur set too and a good drift motor to start you off
grab some pvc drift wheels from ebay and your ready to slide [8D]
as for the bearings ive been looking at the race version it says
The TT-01R uses ball bearings, metal shafts and a higher powered motor for reduced friction and higher top speeds

BTW The TT01R comes with bearings which will be more than good enough for drifting.
