Default OS.91 fx for a Ultimate global 46 ????

Dont use that engine. a 70 four stroke is the most you should use, and a 61 2 stroke is the biggest 2 stroke you should use. You could get away with it, maybe, but it would be heavy, and require alot of tailwheight to balance it out.

Global ARF's typically don't have the structure to handle oversize engines... I'd bet the .91 FX would pull the firewall right out.

Stick in a .46 such as the TT Pro, or the O.S. FX... or maybe even an Irvine .53.

Watch the weight, as noted above. There may be a good reason to look at the O.S. LA .46....

If you want unlimited vertical... put a 12.25X3.75 APC on a .46, and it'll haul a LOT of weight vertical. sometimes... more power isn't the answer.

I too think the 91 2stroke is to much engine. I have seen the plane fly on a 90Fs, and it was a great plane until the throttle came back to idle. It had a glide rate of a brick. Mine flys just fine on a Magnum .46 with a pitts muffler. No it does not have unlimited vertical, yes it will do all I want out of it.

Keep it lite and have fun.

4 strokes have less power than 2 strokes. A 40-46 sized 2 stroke, is equivalent to a 50-60 4 stroke.

I can stuff a 428cu V8 into a Pinto and make it work. Does that mean it is right. Yes, No, Maybe. Only you know what you want.

There are times when more power is not good. You will need to really watch out for flutter, prop clearance, the fire wall pulling out and the wings ripping off. I would suggest that you do not fly level at full throttle. It may come apart.
