Default Buggy Spur Gear Keeps Stripping

Hello Everyone,

I recently bought a Himoto Syclone Pro. It is a great model but i have had some problems with the 47tooth spur gear. After a period of usage the buggy would stop and would not move, even reving its guts out would not move it. I took apart the transmission and the 47 tooth spur gear had stripped and "melted" to the front Diff. Mount. I orderd a new part and it was running again fine, untill the same thing happened again, it stripped. I am not sure where the problem is coming from. It seems everytime i replace it it will just breakdown again.

Any suggestions or solutions would be much appreciated.

Thankyou

P.S I am rather new to Nitro Rc cars.<br type="_moz" />

I have heard the plastic quality of the spur gear is bad on some of the cheaper r/c vehicles. Also, are you sure that it is meshed correctly? The clutch bell could also be getting hot and causing it to melt when they contact. Good luck

Thankyou for your comment,

That may be true because the Double Geared Clutch Bell which is metal may be just stripping and destroying the plastic spur gears. Because the teeth are melted down they no longer mesh i will have to take a look and maybe invest in some metal spur gears.

Most of these cars were manufactured with a flawed, out-of-round clutchbell.

Will an out of shape clutch bell affect the gear mesh?

So Metal spur gears seem to be the answer. Are there any pros/cons to having a metal spur gear?
Also any other possible solutions would be appreciated.

Absolutely. The fix the redcat guys use is the HPI nitro RS4 3 clutchbell.
