Brushless ESC Do you need to have a LVA for Lipo
I was wondering how many people run a low voltage alarm along with the built in alarm that is in the brushless ESC. I just picked up a lipo charger and still shopping for a good Lipo battery but was think of adding a separate low voltage alarm. I'm running a Traxxas VXL and a Castle SW both brushless and both have low voltage alarms built into the ESC. I think both systems will alarm at 3 volts per cell. The stand alone alarm that I'm looking at will sound off at 3.3 volts per cell. Is this needed or will the built in ESC alarms be enough? The lipo batteries that I'm looking at are 7.4volts 2s with anywhere from 30c to 50c rating if this make a difference.
I also picked this up to help check voltage in the field. http://www.commonsenserc.com/product...roducts_id=548

Not really necessary to double up on lvc protection. However some people are wired to need the reassurance of that protection....it cant hurt obviously.</p>
