It depends how far the conversion goes.
If you're having the pull start rtr engine and wanted it to be a non pull start; 1st off, all you'll have to do is to get a started box. 2ndly, you can leave the pull starter cord on, but I would recommend getting the pull starter off and put a back plate on, you will definitely observe an increase in engine performance.
If you're changing your engine to a new non pull start, you'll need a started box, a new nps engine (of course), and MAYBE a new tuned pipe and manifold, again this depends on whether you original NTC3 is a rear exhaust kit or a side exhaust kit.
Hope this helps.

Don't forget, on the NTC3 the engine mounts and flywheel are also different for PS and NPS engines. If you leave the PS flywheel on a NPS engine, it will stick down about 1.5 cm's below the chassis. This is bad! Not only will your flywheel get chewed to hell, you'll also notice your engine stalling when hitting bumps!
(yes, I learned the hard way when I got a used NTC3..hehe)

Hope this helps,

Tom

Lol Tom!!

Yes you can convert to a non PS in the following ways:

1) If you really hate that stupid pull start assembly, you can open it up.. GRIND THE SHAFT with a dremel and put a non pull start backplate on and you'll never know the difference!
THIS CAN BE DISASTROUS IF YOU LEAVE FRAGMENTS INSIDE YOUR ENGINE!

IF you dont want to do that.. heck leave everything as it is and use your starter box!

If you REALLY want to shift your CG down by .004 inches, then you can buy new motor mounts and a new flywheel.

I converted my OS CV engine from pull start to non-pull start. I opened the engine up and grined the extra part of the shaft off, then put on a high performance buttsink on there. I could have also just ordered the non-pull start crankshaft for my engine, but that would not have been as much fun. =) if you take the pull starter off like I did you should get non-pull start engine mount and flywheel. you could use the old ps ones, but the nps one locate the enigne lower into the car which lowers the car's center of gravity. It does make a difference.

Oh, I almost forgot, when I first got a starter box I just pulled the cord off the back of the enigne, (the LHS guy's idea) basicly after 10 mins on the street it hit a rock that snaped the bottum of the back plate off. After that I converted the engine as I said above.
