Default Biggest bang for the buck regarding hop ups?

After selling off some RC's, Ive got a few bucks to play with, and instead of being smart and buying something I really need, I've decided to buy ANOTHER rc.
I was originally offering help to a buddy who wants to get into on road bashing and while looking up all that is new, Ive started to develop an interest in drifting. I've settled on a TC4 (RTR version seeing that a kit is harder to come by) after evaluating the pros/cons of each brand, chassis type, parts availability, initial price and my designated driving surface.

I still own a nicely running HPI RS4 Pro that is way too fast for its handling abilities, so high speed runs across a parking lot get boring after a few minutes. I'm ready to learn how to slide around with an electric TC4

I already made some abs tires and will be practicing with those for a while
What other upgrades should I start off with that will set me in the right direction to turning this TC4 into a drifter?
Thanks

Which chassis are you drifting? The TC4 or RS4?

actually sorry for the confusion, I tried to drift the rs4, it didnt work with weight distribution, I WILL be drifting the TC4 as soon as I buy it and the hopup parts I will be getting will be for the TC4. I will be putting the RS4 back to its stock grip config.

The strange thing is, while researching the tons of posts on drifting as well as other forums, it appears that some of the best drifting chassis' aren't even available anymore or have never been offered in the states. I'm referring to the TA-03 and the HPI Pro-D among some other shaft driven models. Why does it seem these companies run such short production numbers and then discontinue them, and now it seems a lot of them have turned to RTRs rather than kit form which is how I have always purchased my RCs in the past.
