Buku pipe
thinking about getting a Buku exhaust pipe for my Revo basher. is this pipe worth the $100? seems like a good deal. i plan to get an OS .21 TM. would the buku be a good exhaust choice for that motor?

RE: Buku pipe
IMO the buku is a good choice for any size engine, however you have to clean it out from time to time cuz castor oil just like in our
nitro engines, it gums up causing things to stick.
i don't mind cleaning so i think it's awsome

RE: Buku pipe
I did some checking on the Traxxas forums and all the BUKU owners are happy. The only issues I saw were tuning the pipe itself and cleaning it. But then there is the other side of the coin with vantage. Vantage makes a really good pipe but most of its performance gain over other aftermarket pipes is the weight savings. So its your choice. A good pipe every where that helps the whole truck (vantage) or a good pipe with some tuning that can work every where but really only helps the engine (BUKU). Its a hard choice because all the BUKU people are happy and so are all the vantage people. I say vantage because it offers one other feature. When ever you pass by your truck and see the gel coated carbon fiber and bright red letters you will know you made the right choice.

RE: Buku pipe
My favorite 2 pipes (on either my 3.3, 18tm or 21tm) was either the THS hard anodized pipe or the Buku. The THS is half the price of the Buku and the performance is great. I was able to almost do standing backflips with the 18tm and Buku installed. Didnit try it out with my 21tm (sold it and the engine before I could really give it a good test). If $$$ is not a concern I would try the Buku...their customer service is top notch, too (Dave, the owner, is great to deal with).

RE: Buku pipe
is the BUKU hard to tune? i dont mind cleaning it gives me something to do on rainy days or when the girlftiend is nagging about something, so cleaning isnt a big deal.
do you just tune the buku once then thats it?

RE: Buku pipe
Due to vibrations you will eventually have to retune it for best performance. Or if you want a different effect like high, mid or low you have to retune. But only if you want the most performance.

RE: Buku pipe
I was hoping someone would mention the THS. I've had a 3.3 revo with a ths pipe for years. It made a huge difference with my 3.3 and myeb modded 18tm's.
