Default Are these AA's reliable?

Good Morning RC Tankers!

I'm looking for some high quality rechargeable AA's for my VS Tanks and HL xmitters, I came across these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/100-Premium-AA-2...#ht_2701wt_905

And these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/14-pcs-AA-2A-380...#ht_1438wt_905

What do you think? I am also looking for some good quality chargers that will preserve the battery life as long as possible. I have very little hobby experience so any input would be welcome.

Default RE: Rechargeable Batteries

OK if you need that many. If they are rechargeble, why buy a hundred of them? Don't use that many in my camera. My coppertops do fine for my RC TXs and don't need to change them more that a couple times a year. Now if they had a deal on 3.6 V AA's it would be a different matter.

Hey a lesson i learned don't buy normal NIMH AA batteries get the low self discharge ones they hold like 80 to 85% of full charge after a year with the normal ones they lose 3% charge a day!!
Once i switched to the low discharge type i now will never use normal NIMH again!!
You can charge your batteries and go months later and play with your tanks without charging them every few weeks!

You need to make sure you find a charger than can take AA's too that many mAh's. Most chargers for AA's don't get even close too that.

Here's the charger I use for my AAs:  http://www.thomasdistributing.com/sh...kvl1pim7t34t54

I agree with Shenloco...low discharge are the way to go.  I have these:  http://www.thomasdistributing.com/sh...nlpnglrsrnqd46

Eggman was looking at 3500 mah AA's. I have not seen a charger that can meet that need. So be whare of what you buy.

Yeah, the 38000 mAh looked suspicious to me too.

Those were 1.2V batteries.  Most stuff wants your AAs to be closer to 1.4 or 1.5V, too.

Hi all rechargable NIMH and NiCAD AA batteries are only 1.2V a cell.

Alot of my new radios just use AA's. it is actually easier than worrying about if your TX pack is charged. So i just always keep a new pack of good store bought AA's on hand. My Futaba skysport 2.4's onl;y use 4 AA cells. thats great. I get days of use out of 4 batteries. much better than the old 8 cell TX packs (Nicd).

Greg you should get a 8 cell set of these they are cheap and free shipping!! They will last a long time you will save loads of $$ in the long run figure for 4 AA how much are they times how many times you have to replace them when the rechargables can be charged like a thousand times? and what's great these are not like the normal TX batteries they will keep a charge unlike the normal NIMH batteries that when you go to use your radio a few weeks later it's dead...

You can go for a better name brand AA but i had these for like 2 months and they seem to be good.
Should try em out.
Get a 4AA holder for your 977 set it to .5 or .6 amps and you will be ready to go!

Send me a good link Steve and I will look into it. I do have a good AA charger and have some Tenergy cells but they are the fast drain type. that is what sent me back to the store bought AA's
