Default new to forum

hi all. I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. I'm sure I'm gonna ask some crazy questions but I'm gonna need some help! I just got my first non electric car a traxxas rustler I think from looking at pictures of the chassis. It didnt have a radio crystals needed a servo and the starter box batt and charger. I got happy and started ordering parts. Sad part is now that i've got to looking around i probably could have gotten a running car for what I'm gonna have tied up in this. It only has a trx 1.5 on it and im not sure it runs. My friend has one of the easy starts we plugged it in and the motor isnt locked up so hopefully what i got will get me running. I'm already looking into getting a 3.3 but from what i read it will eat some gears up and im not exactly sure i what gears. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I would look at some of the O.S. or OFNA engines rather than a 3.3. They have some smaller engines that could really make your rustler scream on dirt and pavement.

You'll need to either get an os with a side exhaust or step up toa rear exhaust, which would give you some more engine options. I don't know if traxxas makes a 2.5 / 3.3 conversion for it, but that would be a good place to start.
