okay well i am starting to build a custom rc MGT 3.0 without the 3.0 and without the alum chassis...

i am building my own steel chassis, steel bumpers, full roll cage.

the motor is shot... so i am going to use a gas/oil mix fuel engine.

i found this engine at DDM and i need to figure out what to do for a drive output.

its the same motor that comes in a baja 5b apparently... but i dont know what CB or sprocket or gear it has got.

thanks.. and i see that is the assembly of the shoes and spring itself but what about the cover? because if i buy this thing and it has a pocket bike or scooter sprocket im sure i can rig something up since i am into that hobby as well...

the mgt has a 2 speed tranny stock, but i can modify it to wirk with different gears or just go one speed.

thats a 2hp 2stroke motor with a slipper/auto clutch, the same as whats use on a bush cutter. If your gonna build a steel chassis, steel bumpers and full roll cage, all from steel, Then id recommend you look for a 2.5hp motor like this one for $160 new


or the 3.5hp for $249 new

Thanks, looks like a good site. The truck im building is only 1:10 scale, and weighs about 15 pounds stock. When im done i can imagine it 25 pounds.

But does anyone have a pic of what the pto looks like? What kind of drive system does this have?

Do the weedwacker engines rotate in the same direction? Maybe I'm confused as my LHS guy told me they were backwards for boats and reverse pitch propellors were hard to get. Maybe he meant any of the gas engines. Oh well, easy to check out, just check the direction of the pull-start cord.

i think if they are reed inducted they can run either way.

im not too worried about it... if i find out what way they turn then ill just have to design my trans to rotate it the opposite way.
