True, but the seller should have the courtesy to send tracking info or at least respond to e mails.
Hope things work out!!!!

i got taken here before, bought a car that was passed off as run with only 4 tanks, got it with worn bearings, broken pull starter, destroyed/bent shocks, broken servo, and blown diff. then got $15 back, and gave a positive, and he then gave me a negitive!

ebay is actually good if you are carefull and ask questions.

That's the nice thing about paying through paypal. Give it a little while longer, and if the car doesn't show, you can file a complaint on paypal and get your money back. I think you have something like 30 days from the time of the transaction to file the complaint. Paypal explains it pretty good. I had to do that with hobbyking. A package they sent me was "Returned to Sender." I tried to get a hold of hobbyking to straighten it out, but nobody answered, so I filed a complaint to paypal and got my money back. Went pretty smoothly.

I don't recommend this at every little hiccup when buying things online, but you should know your options.

some people really suck. how hard is it to package and mail something you agreed to sell, and send them a tracking number!
i have had over 100 deals on RCU, and only 2 went bad. i didnt get taken, just the other person wasnt happy with the deal. i made it right with them.

i think there are some bad people who see the marketplace as a way to rip people off. unfortunately, in this world, you are bound to have a deal with a rotten apple.

maybe you will get lucky and the mail is just slow, and the guy is too busy to bother answering you emails. a simillar situation once happened to be. took forever but the package finally showed up.

Most importantly, read the Paypal policies considering returning your money. I believe that it's a 30-day period after the payment to file a claim that something is afoul. Once this time period expires, you're out of luck. Many scammers know this, and they'll bait you along until it's too late. Give the guy an ultimatum that's a good week or so BEFORE your 30-day period expires, just to be safe. If you hear nothing, pull the trigger.

I bought a car a while back on eBay, and the seller simply never contacted me. I did the same thing I recommended- kept an eye on the calendar, gave him an ultimatum, and then filed a complaint with Paypal. It's not a very quick process; they wait a certain amount of time after you file the initial complaint to give the other party a chance to respond. In my case, the guy never did anything, so I sat around for however long it was (on the order of weeks) and waited until it was finally resolved by Paypal. I got all of my money back.

I'm sorry to hear the transaction was sour, especially right in the middle of the holiday season. I'm sure your son will understand, and that you'll find another E-Revo soon!
