Default Hummingbird Brushless Setup

Can I use a brushless main motor with its own controler and still use the hummingboard just for controling the tail motor, just like they do with the picoboard on a brushless setup?

Though I don't have a hummingboard, you should be able to do the brushless like you are talking about. The trick is that you need a "Y" connector so the throttle channel from the receiver goes to both the brushless controller and to the hummingboard.
