Default One servo for carburetor and breaks

Hi,

I have SINYIH S10 rc car.

The carburetor throttle and the breaks are using the same servo.

When operating the breaks the throttle is also moving towards closing.

This brings me into a situation when operating the break the motor is shot down becouse the tuned position of the throttle is a bit more open then the mechanical stopper.

is there a way to separate this two functionalites?

hi, there, you dont need to seperate the functions, just adjust the idle needle on the carb so that the engine still runs when the brakes are on, the handbook should tell you how

The set-up on your car is a proven method for operating nitro vehicles and their brakes. As was wsaid above, your problem is that your carb is incorrectly set-up. If you adjust the idle needle on the vehicle to have a 1mm - 2mm gaap when fully closed the engine will stop dieing when the brakes are applied.

To answer your question though, yes, it is possable to seperate the brake and throttle functions by using a 3 (or more) channel radio system, an addational servo amd some extensive modifications to the vehicle. All that would be pretty worthless though because the braking systems on rc cars is very weak and would have only very minimal effect at any but the slowest speeds.

Just to clarify.....they don't mean the idle mixture screw.....they mean the idle stop screw. The Idle stop screw needs to control the idle, so the throttle servo normally brings the idle back until the idle stop screws limits the carb from closing and the servo may go a bit more to ensure the carb lever or slide is firmly back against the idle stop screw. Further application of the throttle servo in the braking direction will not continue to close the carb, but will start to apply the brakes.

You need to turn your idle speed up. 99.99% of nitro cars use one servo for throttle and brake with some sort of spring mechanism on the throttle rod to allow brake action. The carb's idle speed screw is there to keep the engine running.

HiAll,

Thanks for the information.

What i understood is that when the servo is operating to pull the break the carburator need to be at his mechanical stop and all movemant of the servo arm to the carborator need to be

inside a spring.

The carburettor screw should prevent the engine from stopping...The mechanical stop.
