Default DLE 20cc

Hi guys
What do you think of putting the DLE 20cc in the Seagull 540 Edge 60-90 ARTF.Will this engine have enough power?

Mine flew on a Magnum 91 2 stroke. The DLE 20 will have enough power.

Bernard,

I beleive the Black Horse Edge 540 .60-.75 is similar to the Seagullplane you have.
the DLE20 is too large for the BH version because the engine needs to be mounted with the prophub 115mm from the firewall. the DLE is 135mm long...

Clive McInnes of CMC hobbies will have the NGH 17cc shortly. Its shorter then the DLE because its carb is in front al glow style and will fit the Edge. Its not much lighter than the DLE but my BH needs a bit of nose weight even with a OS 91FX on the nose. With a 2stroke glow these ARF's need the battery as far forward as possible. the NGH may be the ticket.

To add to Tim's post, the DLE20 really likes a 17" prop and while it can use smaller diameters it really shines with the 17. With the 17" on it it'll make somewhere around 14.5 lbs of thrust. A 16 or 17" prop on the 60-90 size birds tends to be awful close to the ground. Just sayin.

to add to Jezmo, the bigger prop with create some interesting torque roll effects as you increase throttle so you will probably need a throttle to aileron mix to sort that out. Even with a 91FX  my Edge needs a bit of mixing assitance at WOT.

If  youave ot bought the ARF yet, get the Seagull .90-1.20 size Edge. The DLE will fit in that and fly it well.
Alternaively wait for the NGH 17 and fit it too the Edge 60-90
