You know, I was thinking of saying something about mini cooper tires before I saw the pictures, but then I saw them and they look fantastic They give it a much better scale look though! Does it handle good or fairly decent with them?

RE: 71 cuda hardbody project
thanx guys!
every tire and rim combo pictured sticks out past the body and hits hard on turns.the only ones that clear are the stock tc4 rims/tires and the drift tires.
the white scale rims are rc4wd 1.5 stamped steel beadlocks, tires are stock from the toy chassis the body was taken from.
i guess ill get some rc4wd 1.5 landy rims with some tamiya mini cooper street tires to keep the size of the tire into scale with the body.
1.55's are the way to go.
plus the 1.5 landy rims are 5 lug aswell.
the white rims with the hard rubber tires give me sweet high speed drifts, but they are very thin and wont last long.

RE: 71 cuda hardbody project
i thought about that option too,i was gonna get the lexan shell, make both paint jobs match, attach the lexan with velcro, the hardbody is bolt on.
but deep down im a hardbody kinda guy.
i also have a10 camaro hardbody, and a 09 mustang gt 500 body that fits this platform really well.
id like to get the looks as scale as possible, while running the hard body.im not too worried about damaging the body....im pretty good with styrene.but then again....this body is hard to obtain.
the tc4 in stock form on rubber tires is too fast, accelerates like a rocket peaking out at 30 mph out the box....id like to get her down to 15 mph.
for drifting the stock tc4 is perfect, nice slow drifts, and great high speed long drifts.
but on rubber tires ill total this body quick...lol.
it will drift on rubber aswell.
heres the rims im looking at buying.not too many options for 1.55 out there!

heres the expensive tamiya tires@ $60a set shipped
another tire option is tires from the hpi cup racer, ther are 1.7....may beable to make them work.
but the cup racer tires are slicks.
ive put 1.5 tires on 1.7 rims before, but never the otherway around.

Yokomo, HPI, Tamiya of course -
and that's all I think is worthy mentioning.

Be careful. I ordered that set, and they gave me a different compound, with a different tread pattern, admitted to messing up my own order, and dared to challenge me with a re-stocking fee over the phone. Tower hobbies is not the best place in the world to buy tires.

main reason I don't order more from them is I have to pay taxes on the stuff I ge, at that point I might as well goto the LHS [:@]
