Default had a fire

I had a fire in my shop where I kept my RC trucks. They were not burned, but water was shot on my Tmaxx with a 2.5r in it.I did not realize it had gotten wet until several months after it happened. It took me a while to rebuild my shop and just now getting back to be able to start messing with my trucks. My engine was locked up. I was able to get it turning today, but it feels rough in a couple of spots. I have it soaking in oil. Have any of you guys ever had an issue like this?

is there any visible rust? if so maybe soaking it in a rust remover would help?

but i would wait till see if the oil soak fixes things.

It will not be 100% smooth until after the first time you run it.

It was probably old fuel, not water, that caused this. Take the engine apart and soak the crankcase in new fuel to loosen stuff up. Sometimes fuel can turn acidic and eat up the bearings, too...so be prepared to buy a new crankcase or bearings if this is the case.

Sorry about the fire in your shop, that sucks.

I have not had time to work on my truck.  I was offered 100 bucks per hour to work on some machines that I once worked on at a company that shut down.  A man purchased the machines and wants them running.  SO, I am thinking new motor!!!!  What would you guys suggest for my Tmaxx.  I am not thinking crazy power, just somethinf I don't have to tune every 10 minutes.

Is that engine a drop in replacement?
