Cellpro 10XP Issue
Hi,
A club member has just started to use a 10XP.
At first it worked as you might expect. - Charging 10s lipo - 5 to 10 amps.
Then for no apparent reason it would stop at 40 volts. - 4v / cell.
As it approached this voltage it would ramp down the amps then stop saying ; 'done'.
It did not switch to balance charging though. The only parameter to change was the charge amps - this just started ramping down with no indication as to why.
We tried changing parameters , different presets ,optimization and even power supplies.
It was behaving like a 10S in winter mode.
It had done this once the first day we used it and then was ok again ??!
Any ideas ???
Brian

RE: Cellpro 10XP Issue
what was the ambient temperature? If it is cold outside (below 50F), the Cellpro chargers assume the batteries are cold and reduce the full charge voltage to protect the lipo batteries.

Hi Woodie,
It was 12 C outside, but we had the heat on in the club-house so 20C
There was no indication to say this. With the 10S the charge mode screen says 'winter' or 'cold' and or something like that.
Two other cellpro's were ok.
In the online manual it says the 10XP does not have this 'winter' function, but that is like how it was behaving.

Brian,
Not sure about the XP, but on 10S, if you are not using "Accurate" as charge mode, it will do exactly that. You might want to see if you happened to change the charging mode.
Just a thought...

Kevin,
Yes we tried changing the optimization between accurate and faster.
Did the same thing.
The one thing to note is that it was stopping at 4v/cell on multiple packs, ramped down but no balance phase ???

RE: Cellpro 10XP Issue
Before sending it back, I would try re-loading or updating the firmware.
