Default Balancing a 26" 3 Blade CF Mejzlik Prop

I was offered a great deal on a new/unused 26"x12 3 blade Mejzlik carbon fiber prop, so I bought it. It will be going on my EVO 9-99 that will be sitting in the Vailly FW 190 I am building.

My question is if anyone has a tried and true method for balancing a CF 3 blade prop? There is a ton of info on 2 blade wooden props, but nothingI can seem to find on this one.

Default RE: Balancing a 26

With a 3 blade the object is to have it stay on the balancer in any position you put it. What I did was to carefully paint the prop with a basecoat/clear. Then when it was time to balance, I would sand the clear with 600 grit until balanced then I would polish out to a shine. I would think you could do the same except you are not going to want a glossy surface. Maybe you can paint the color you want and then apply a flat clear then apply more clear to the light blade/blades until it will balance.

Thanks SpeedRacer,

Can't say I would be too confident to paint this prop well enough not to really screw up the balance! It's pretty close now, just looking to dial-it-in. I have had several PM's regarding just using clear coat on the backside of the prop that is the light one. Might give this a try...

Thanks again!
