Sam
Each twin is different , but for starters if you lose a motor and it tries to snap or roll chop the throttle on the good motor and land just like any dead stick. after a few flights you can feel it out a little more. Then if you lose a motor chop the throttle then when the plane is level you can start adding throttle to the good motor but go easy on the throttle don't jam it open. Some twins fly fairly good on one motor. Hope this helps.

ok thanks for that
the engines are fairly close in to the fuselage so i'm guessing that this is a good factor
thanks again,

Dead Stick
vtol_guy
UH.......what kind of craft are we talking about?????
No rudder, and a handle of VTOL.
Why do I get the feeling that this is a loaded question?
Please keep us informed.

what happens when 1 deadsticks?
well in hover mode i'm hoping i dont get an engine out, will only be hovering low to ground, highest maybe about 20ft....? so if i have a deadstick then i'll drop all power and there shouldn't be much damage
first few flights will be hovering with me holding the fin to help in stabality while i figure out how it responds ect
next flights after that will be normal flights tests and i'll gradually try different angles. eg. wing at 60 degree and take off like that then proceed to rotate wing to full horizontal
hopfully i'll have a transistion time of about 5-10 seconds
but with a current wing loading of 30 oz / sq ft, if i don't build some extra wing area...it wont be flying at all! :stupid:
will try and get video for you all, should be able to get a hover test tommorow if i really wanted to as i could bolt the wings in place (i havent got rotation mech sorted out yet)
but i'd rather finish it all propely first but knowing me i'll probaly get it ready for saturday with the wings bolted in, lol!
hmmm....now where did i put those captive nuts.....

VTOL: If I get this right?
Your CG has to be center of your rotating Axis on your main wing. so the thing doesn't drop the tail or nose while hovering, correct? I can't wait to see how you make out! Hope it is successful!
And don't forget to post some Photo's for us "slow dial up" users.
PS: Awesome plane!
Smoky.
