Looking for some suggestions on a good prop to start with on a SachsDolmar 3.2 engine and what size fuel tank. I want to put a smoke tank in as well so any suggestions would be welcome.

I use Brison 3.2s. They consume 1.75 ounces per minute at full throttle. If you are going to fly for ten minutes a 24 ounce tank is good enough with a couple of minutes as a reserve. I use Zinger 20X11s and get good performance from them. The Zinger 20X10s are also good. Dan.

16 to 20 oz will give you 10-13 min of imac and some 3d. if only 3d 16 oz will be plenty, adjust to you liking if you need to fly at a higher throttle setting

22 X 8 is the standard prop for these on a fly around plane

A 20 X 10 would be better on a fast plane.

16oz if the engine is tuned perfect otherwise you need a bigger tank.

The plane is a Walt Moucha PJ-295. I have the plane just about ready to cover. I plan to put a smoke tank in as well. Thanks for all of the advice.

I would use a Xoar laminated 22x8 or 22x10 depending on the speed you want and a 24 oz tank, will give you 15 to 20 minutes flight time.

How do you guys like this engine? I just acquired one and am thinking of putting it in a GP Ultimate bipe 160. This aircraft had a DL 50 before and that was a great combo.
My Sachs has a CH ignition with mechanical advance. I may need a muffler for it as well. Any leads on those?

Vertical, I use a Bisson muffler with the CH mechanical advance ignitions on my brison 3.2s. A perfect combination. Dan.

3.2 engines are awesome , I have several Brison 3.2's. They are as reliable and durable as you can get and will generally outlast any DL or DLE etc.. if reasonably cared for . I use Bisson mufflers . The 3.2 Sachs cylinders were used on Brison , Fox , A&M , Walker , Precision Eagle and a few other engine manufactures .

The Sachs Dolmar cylinder  based 3.2 are generally fine engines. There were a couple variations with bad cranks and rods.

The cylinder and piston were from a Dolmar 115 chainsaw.

I have a new unused Brison 3.2 and a well used Brison 6.4 twin. I also have several Dolmar chainsaws.

Regarding tanks size and prop. I have and 1/4 scale Extra 300 with a Brison 3.2, The prop is a Zinger 22/10 pro, and the tank is a 500cc = 16oz After 15 minutes of 3d and Imac flying I have over 1/3 close to a half of tank of fuel left.

Dan - I need a muffler for my A&M 3.2. That Brisson looks good. Can you tell me the size and where to order it? I just did a Google search and didn't find any Brisson's specifically for the Sach 3.2.

Dan - Thanks. Would the A&M \ Sachs be most close to the Brison engine? (on their pull-down menu).

Mike, if anyone knows, it’s the Bisson guys. The mold mark on the Brison 3.2 is on the base of the cylinder facing forward. It’s 44ZN18 W3. The muffler mounting holes are 1.375 inches apart horizontally. Dan.

The same sachs 3.2 cylinder was used on Brison , A&M , Walker , FPE and many others. A Sachs/ Dolmar 3.2 muffler would fit all of them.
