RE: Small GPS for RC's
Honestly I just checked ebay and found [link=http://www.ebay.com/itm/Garmin-Nuvi-1350LMT-Auto-GPS-Lifetime-Maps-Traffic-010-00782-2E-One-Year-Warr-/300882734895?pt=GPS_Devices&hash=item460e022f2f]this[/link] for an extra $20.
It might be heavier but if your going to spend $70 for a 2 use gps you might be better off spending the extra $20 and get a real one that can still be used in a real vehicle [:-]
Unless you intend to use it for flight then a smaller one makes sense.

Seen these on Ebay, Would be nice for speed runs but $70 is a little high still. If they come down in price I would pick one up...

RE: Small GPS for RC's
pretty overpriced if you ask me
the tinkerer guys use small gps in their robots and other builds for wayyyy less
i have seen built one for like 29$
but this one at 49 $ is neat because you dont need a reader it stores the data on a sd card
http://www.adafruit.com/products/1272
just goes to show the price gouging you get when you buy something "made for rc"

RE: Small GPS for RC's
I have just been using a gps program on a mobile phone. Was just a free app that I downloaded, so far seems to be acurate when trialed in my real car. Obviously not for everyone but is also a cheap option if you have an old phone or can mount it where its safe from crashes. Ulysee Speedometer is the one I have been using but there are others too.
