US -41 ??'s

Default US -41 ??'s

will a US -41 PULL a 20-10 prop on a 20-25 pound warbird ? specifically a bates 87 inch tempest

I wouldn't use a 20/10. I'd use a 20/8

The US and Quadras are luggers . Typically run a 18X6-10 on them . I don't think it would perform all that well with a 20X10. As mentioned, a 20X8 would probably be better.

A 20x10 will load the 41 too much you won't get it into the peak power RPM's . The ideal prop size on the 41 is an 18x10 . back when Quadra and US Engines were popular The Zinger 18x6-10 was preferred but that was before we had nice props like Xoar , Biela etc.. I think a Xoar 19x10 would be the most a 41 could handle .
