How much biplane experience do you have? This is likely to be more of an issue than the size of the plane, big planes are if anything easier to fly. Having said that there's usually a bit of a pucker factor when you first put a big plane into the sky!
Biplanes are a lot draggier than other aircraft, so you can't just cut the throttle and glide in, you need to keep some power on all the way down.
Are you a member of a club? If so is there anyone who is able to assist first time up? You don't say how much experience you have so it's hard to position a reply

Issy, I had one of these for a couple years,, they are easy flyers,, No funny tendencies just because it's a bipe,, but it is very sensitive and reacts quickly on high rates,, I suggest you use at least 30% expo on the elevator and ailerons,, 40% on high rates

good luck

Normally mine are the same or real close too,, but with the huge control surfaces on 3D type planes I add a little more on HR,

Those 4 ailerons are super responsive,, you'll see

mine after the repairs,,

Excellent advice and would serve one well to listen. I have a Pitts of the same size +/-. Everyone kept saying it was a beast, horrible takeoff and landing tendencies. But it is a real joy, very smooth flight characteristics, it does need some speed for an appropriate takeoff. Only real concern was with landing speed, it does not want to slow down. So, my advice would be accelerate for take off progressively, get some altitude and do some circles playing with the speed to get a feel for it.
And I would highly recommend not going with high rates right off the bat, get a feel for it first. That thing will rotate faster than you can count.
