F-100 From RCM Plans
I started on this a few months ago. I have seen these plans from RCM for years so finally decided to build one. I blew the plans up to a 65" span so its about 4" smaller than BVM. I decided on this size to take advantage of 19-22lb turbines I already have on hand and also give the option for electric.
I made some changes such as airfoiling the fin, doing plug in wings, and building a plug from foam and making a mold rather than going with built up construction. I am molding the fuselage, drop tanks, fin, stab, etc. wings will be foam core. Stab has been molded. Will be molding the drop tank and fuse next weekend.

My company had a mass layoff a couple months ago which is the why I have time, but not by choice. I needed a project to take my mind off things
yep, I was thinking the same thing.

Been a long time but finally finished this thing up and it flys great! Took almost 2 years. Weighs 24lbs with a Dynamax fan and 12s. Working on a lighter one now and then will put a turbine in this one. Not a whole lot of places to fly turbines around here which is why I made it electric.

Hi
Great work and congratulations, its a beautiful plane.
I am interested to know how you went about getting the Dynamax EDF conversion. Did you buld it yourself? If so, would tou care to elaborate how you did it and source of components.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Eduardo

Thanks Eduardo! I got the fan from Tamjets. It's all assembled for $475. He also sells t ready to run with motor and speed control.
Ha! Only advantage electric has I guess lol. I'd day it's closer to 1:8. A BVM F-100 has a 69" span and mine is 65". I believe theirs is 1:8.

Foam F-100, Freewing model?
Any chance anyone has a canopy from the Freewing F-100 Sabre? Originally had fixed gear, I put in retracts, but somehow lost the canopy, think my grandson got hold of it and threw it away. This one is 59" long with a 48" wingspan. Hoping someone might have one laying around.

Their website is hobby88.com
Also ask on RCG if there's an extra canopy
