savage 25 engine problems

Default savage 25 engine problems

im having problems with my savage 25 engine. it starts perfectly and sounds fine but for some reason it starts to speed up and the throttle hasnt moved from the controller or is closed almost all the way. I tried tuning the engine but nothing seems to work. please i need help

Moving your thread to the Car forum, Nitro engines.
you'll get more answers there. (it sounds like the engine is running LEAN... either needle valve screwed in too far or partial obstruction in the fuel delivery system / carb spray bar.)

thanks and yeah ill move it to the Car forum, Nitro engines once i can figure how everything works here

A LSN set too lean will cause the idle speed to slowly increase (and may eventually stall). Try turning the LSN out about 1/4 turn and see what happens.

it kinda worked atleast now my engine is womewhat working but i face a few more issues with the steering being a little sluggish and i guess i need some new brakes. i also have another question after my last run there was some oily substance on the exhaust, the wheels, the engine, basicly almost all over the body of the truck i have no idea what it is or if its just gas thats leaking from somewere

With the engine running spray WD40 around the carb mounting, front bearing and the back plate. If the engine dies down then you have a air leak.
