CARF Eurosport Details
Well guys I did it got my ultimate jet I can afford today
Its a lightly used CARF Eurosport with a King Tec 140
So im saveing up for the carf weapons set up and maybe the airbrake
But I cant seem to find any good build thread
So a few questions
I got a plan grey copit tub. So anyone make a upgrade for this?
Is the 140 big enough?
Is the air brake worth it? Any build / direction?
Thanks. O. Its the Jolly Roger

The intakes dont fit the fuse, unless they have been updated after my set I dont know, because we had a heck of a time installing them. The parts were twisted and the fuse is not symmetrical.
The air brake is a nice touch but its also poorly done. Lots of work to get it installed right so we just used the skin and redesigned everything else.
Mine is under construction from a new kit and its been extensively improved from stock. I have a JC Titan in mine.
I plan on posting a short thread on it and sharing some info soon.

IMHO 140 will be just about OK, 160 would be perfect, 180 would be awesome. If 140 I wouldn't bother adding 'weapons' that will just create more drag and you don't need the airbrake, pick the nose up on landing with throttle and it'll slow down plenty. Awesome model...enjoy.
Just to add...best scale feature I think is afterburner lights from Xicoy. Go for the smallest set they do and they fit perfectly.
1 x Light controller 4 Channel (http://www.xicoy.com/catalog/product...roducts_id=206)
2 x Afterburner ring 30 LED (http://www.xicoy.com/catalog/product...roducts_id=202)

Mine had a 170G Kingtech was good. No air-brake, don't bother too much stuffing around and not worth the effort. Forget the intakes mesh the front area and let the air flow through.Save some weight.
http://www.rctrader.com/category/342...TH-SMOKER.html shows some photos without intakes.
The fly nice and land easy. Mine however come to grief lost orientation into sun down low. I had foru afterburner rings from Xicoy and were great

I just ordered a Swiss scheme myself today, was looking at ducting but I like your layout number27,
Are those Dubro 2.4l tanks in there on the belly?
Cheers

Wow sweet vid,
I like the rings, There at the top of my list now, but I got the single exsaust not the Y pipe, so I think I'll have to go with smaller ring of LED's/
Thansks guys for all the info,
I know the weapons will add drag and the K140 will be on the lower side of things, So I guess I will just have to keep my eyes surching for a good deal.
Question, I know a guy who has an AMT Olympas for a price I may beable to one day afford. I know its heavyer than my K140 but with all the exstra thrust for a more scale flying bird would it be worth the effort?

The speed break isn't that hard to install. Todd Witkoff did a nice build addendum document that includes instructions on how to do it. It definitely adds "cool factor"

Ive has two.
Inlets arent necesary, but clean up the insides a bit. The trade off, is they need to be the intairco 4 piece inlets so you can remove the rear pieces for installs and maintenance.
Speed does help, but not a ton. The speed brake kit from Carf is a rip off IMO. You can make your own parts from G10 and by Carefully cutting out the speed brake from the fuselage for under $50.
The kevlar tanks are nice and worth the $$ IMO.

I've had two Eurosports, still have one. The Air Brake is fun but not worth the extra build and weight IMO. The plane can get plenty of drag just by pulling up the nose and keeping the power up.
I've flown with a Jetcat 160SE, a Jets Munts Merlin 160 and a Kingtech 180G.
I have put Vectored thrust on them and it makes for a really fun airplane. The 180G is 'stupid' power but you have unlimited climb and hover capabilities.
I also liked it with the Merlin-160 still pretty brisk.
There is so much wing I think the 140 will be fine, you will get great flight times.
Enjoy! Just a FUN airplane!
