Default AR8000 Issues

I bought used a Spektrum ar8000 months ago online. Finally got my Yak 54 50cc build enough to start testing the servos. After binding with my Dx7s radio, there occasionally is a red light that flashes inside the receiver itself. When it does flash, it flashes continually with no pauses. Also the servos stop working. Then, sometimes some servos work and others don't. Could I have purchased a bad receiver?

Thanks!

Sounds like a bad power supply or connection to me.

Bad power (cables, connections, battery, etc/ are the most likely suspects.
You can also try flexing the RX slightly. Seems that there may be a cold solder joint
or other intermittent connection somewhere in the RX.

I had this happen with a couple of non Spectrum RX's. Turned out that one of the
under chip solder joints was intermittent on each.
