Anyone Running a DLE 40cc Twin?
Been trying to do some research on this new motor from them, but nothing is coming up! A lot on the VVRC 40 Twin.
Anyone have one? I am back after 5 years of no RC flying, and snagged a giant ultra stik I would like to try this motor on.

The folks I have read about from another site seem to really like them. At least 5 or 6 different guys, and no problems yet with them. All good things so far, and really good power. Id buy one!

I think a much larger issue than the weight is the small angled plugs the VVRC twin has where the DLE plugs are straight. The VV engine is narrower and is a much easier fit in most airplanes. The DLE was available first but never got much press ..... probably because of its width. I would predict DLE could increase their 40cc sales a bunch by just changing the plugs.

I just ordered one for a 19 pound Giant Sweet'N Low stick.
On paper this looks like the perfect size for stick but I'd would like to have a 50cc size. 60cc would be too much. I hope DLE is close with their 4.8HP rating.
What size fuel tank are you guys using?
Is a 20x8 prop good for engine break in?

Slopoke, what is the C/G like on the Rascal 110 with the DLE 40, did you need to relocate servo's, ect. To get it to balance properly ? The reason I'm asking is that I have a 4 lb twin 40cc and am looking for an airframe for it. It's a OS 240 Gemini

Have a DLE 40 in an Aeroworks 50cc Ultimate. Couldn't get the 60cc under the cowl, without cutting it full of holes. Same with the Saito FG-57, just to much engine. Haven't flown it yet, runway problems.

I am running a DLE 40 twin in an Aero Works 35 cc Extra 300. Has plenty of power, quiet and smooth. I found the 20x8 prop made the engine turn to slow> I am using a 19x8 and works just fine.

Yeah that's strange. If DLE's specs are to be believed then the 20x8 is a good break in prop and the 20x10 is the perfect prop once the engine is broken in. On paper at least.
20x8 Prop
8,203 RPM
28.8 Lps Static Thrust
62.1 MPH Est. Flying Speed
4.8 HP
20x10 prop
7,615 RPM
24.8 Lps Static Thrust
72.1 MPH Est. Flying Speed
4.8 HP
I can't wait to get mine in and see what it does in the real world.
