Default Top Flite T-34 Mentor Engine Choice

I am currently building the Top Flite Mentor with fixed landing gear. My preference is to power the plane with a gasoline engine e.g. the DLE-20 or O.S. GT22 inverted. However, it looks as if the forward extending nose gear will prevent that option. Second choice is to side mount the engine and replace the stock muffler with an after market Pitts style muffler. Last choice is a glow engine.

Would appreciate comments from anyone that has installed a gasser on the T-34 and any recommendations that may be appropriate. I don't want to spring for an engine and find out it's not going to work out well.

Thanks,

DaveB

I have a TF Bonanza boxed up and ready to build and I will definitely experience the same engine challenges. I am looking forward to seeing your replies!
