Is it brand new?
check your remote and see if the throttle trim is set right and that the throttle channel isn't reversed or somthing. See if your throttle trigger adjusts the carb.
Check your idle set screw.

You should check the linkage rod from the throttle sero to the engine carberuator. Remove the air filter and turn the radio on and see how far the slide inside the carb. opens. Do this while the engine is off and not running. From there you can check the radio trims "little knobs" or adjust the linkage etc. You can also remove the servo horn "the little black plastic thing that the throttle linkage attaches to" it's attached with one screw and you can try to center the servo that way. The proper way not to damage the servo is to hold the plastic horn in one hand and remove the screw with the other hand. This way the actual servo never gets stressed as you apply pressure to the screw. If you can post a picture it'd help.

First things first, read the manual! It's very helpful for people new to nitro or the hobby in general. If your truck didn't come with one go to Traxxas.com, find the TMaxx product page, click downloads and then the manual.
The most likely cause for your problem is the throttle trim being off. The manual will help you reset it. If the truck was purchased used there's a possibility the throttle linkage is not adjusted correctly. The clutch spring also could've broke or for stretched letting the clutch engage sooner than it should causing the truck to move. Start with the manual and resetting the throttle trim.
