New to the amazing world of RC
Hey everybody. So I have the exact model of the 1/6th scale Fast and the Furious Eclipse that Brian (Paul Walker) drove in the very first movie. I was driving home from work one day when I saw it sitting outside next to a bunch of FREE items in front of someones house, so of course I grab it and take it home with me. I got it home, charged the battery and quickly realized it didn't actually work, which is probably why it was on the side of the road. I'm pretty certain it may just be an old non working battery which is an easy fix, but I'm so fresh into this world that I have no freakin idea where to start. I've tried finding the exact battery that came with the car but can't seem to find it, or literally ANY information on the car. I saw someone else bought it from Wal Mart but this must have been YEARS ago. Though it probably isn't a very high quality car/transmitter, I would love to upgrade the car making it functional and also speeding it up a bit. Any information on this car in particular would be awesome!!! Maybe some ideas on how to beef it up and make sure I get the correct parts.
Side note, this is not MY car in the picture but again, it's the exact one. Also want to remind you I am extremely fresh but plan to do my research with some help and guidance. Thanks in advance.

Yeah here ya go. Sorry for the delay, broke my phone last week so I had to use my lap tops camera, hence the quality of photos.Anyways, looks to me like an old old brush motor which could be easily replaced I'm sure, it does not contain much else like an ESC and especially not a BEC. I'm beginning to think this thing is a lost cause. What do y'all think?
Seems like a very simple and cheap RC car you'd buy RTR for your 5 year old. And yet I still can't figure it out. haha Keep in mind I do also have the transmitter the car came with, along with the 12V 2300Mah Battery pack.

Yup. What are the measurements from the middle of the wheel well and to the next consecutive one on the body? I think I have an idea of a good chassis, if the body fits, of course.

The real question is "why would you?" The toy grade vehicles won't be durable and would not be able to handle hobby grade electronics or gearing. It wasnt designed to handle that power. You would waste so much money getting it up to running ability that it wouldn't be worth it. Your better off buying a hobby grade vehicle that you can fit the body too.

Tamiya makes some excellent 1/10 scale street machines. I have a Drifter from Team Associated that it would probably fit also that was around $350. AMAIN has the YOKOMO sport 1/10 electric on sale for $159.00 Its a 4 wheel drive electric touring/drifting car 200mm wheel base. I also like the Serpent S411 which comes complete for $319.00. The Yokomo needs all electronics, wheels/tires, and body.

Okay so I'm actually having a pretty hard time trying to match a chassis to this body. Even if it's just the main chassis with no parts I'm fine with that, just trying to get a good starting point to build off of.

and you may not be able to find a chassis to fit the body because it wasn't made in traditional scale sizes that chassis for hobby grade come in. Its just a tough situation trying to meld the two levels of tech

Well this is annoying. Whatever I'll worry about this one later. Maybe I'll build an aluminum chassis for it and throw in a gas engine. In the meantime, I think I'll just end up buying a brand new RTR to get me by as I'm building this one. Thanks for all your help.
