Everybody is welcome to stop by May 10-14, 2016 at our boot at the Joe Nall 2016 for little bit of playtime. We are going to have final, working, pre-production piece of revolutionary Jeti DS-24.

OK, I'm not a Jeti guy (yet) but I went and checked them out today. They did in fact have the Jeti XX-24 on display, both the DS-24 hand-held and the DC-24 tray version. The color screen was really nice but otherwise it looked very similar to the DS/C-16's. "Z.B." (the guy in the yellow shirt) was very informative about their radios and gave me a very in-depth explanation and demonstration of the various features.

At the end I asked "When will the DS/DC-24 be available ?", he said in about 6 months. He further went on to say that other than the color screen, the DS/DC-24 is mostly "cherry on the icing" or something similar, and that the DS/DC-16 is already capable of supporting 24 channels and functionally almost identical to the 24. I asked the price and he said $2000 but in retrospect, he may have been referring to the DS/DC-16.

Here are some pics of the DS/DC-24 (with me in one to prove I was there):

PS: I suppose I should also mention that I was extremely impressed with these radios. Fantastic features which reflect some really innovative thinking and practical applications. Dual redundant tx and rx channels, motion control capability (you tilt the transmitter to move a function, such as brakes), robust telemetry, super flexible programming, etc.. I know some have complained about the "feel" of the hand held version (it looks a little boxy) but it is actually fairly thin and with nice contour bumps on the back. It feels solid (weighs more than my DX-18) but not as heavy at the JR-28X, it felt very nice to me. The sticks were also very smooth.

So, anybody want to buy my Weatronic BAT-60? If I decide to bite on the Jeti I'm not sure I would even wait for the -24. The -16 has everything I can imagine I would want.

Thanks Bob. Does that mean I heard Z.B. correctly and the DS24 will be $2000?

The hand held versions are generally a few hundred dollars morethan the tray versions and since the pre-order price of the DC24 standard / DC24 carbon are $1495/$1695, $2000 sounds about right.

This site linked to below lists the differences, though iirc the 24s also now will include LUA scripting which means those who want to write computer programs can make the Tx do even more fancy things. Although the 16s are now 24 channel, one minor difference is that the servo balancer feature (a multi-point curve to allow precise matching of servos) is still only available on channels 1-16 whereas presumably they will be on all 24 in the DC/DS 24. For most people, having the balancer on 16 channels will be more than enough.

I changed from Weatronic DV module and Rx over to Jeti when I realised a couple of years ago that the BAT Tx didn't suit me, I have been very happy with that decision.

I went from Weatronic to Jeti several years ago when I got frustrated with the wait for the BAT 60. VERY happy that I made that decision. The BAT 60 is a $2000 boat anchor now.

Rich,
I've definitely got my eye on Jeti. I'm hoping to see a few at First in Flight later this month.

No just the DC/DS-24. They have to get the 3rd band (900MHz) approved by the FCC here in the states and it may be one of the reasons they are not available yet (just my speculation).
