Default New here

Hi:
New member here. New to rc boats but 18 years onshore experience (1/5 & 1/4). Currently researching large rc gas boats (55 inch and up). Eager to learn from the group, grateful for advice.

Thanks,
MGMarine

You have any idea approximately what you are looking to spend ? Easier to give realistic idea's for you if we have some idea of what your looking to spend.

I'm looking for a hull that I can put a Mathe engine in. I'm thinking the hull will be $500 or more. On top of this there'll be the Mathe engine (35cc) and all of the fittings and whatnot to make a running boat.

The Mathe is a favorite of mine though is one of the heavier motors out there. Take a look at Central RC Marine - Boat Hulls who have a 58" and 2 x 70" vees which would make a good home for the Mathe.
Also Bonzi Sports have a nice looking 60" apache for $490 which would also be a decent home - https://www.bonzisports.com/boats-rc...0-epic-rc-boat

Bonzi also carries the hardware needed to finish off a build. There are many other options out there like Zippkits - Model Boat Rudders and Struts -- who are perhaps the lowest priced reputable dealer.

MHZ, MTC, and WD200 are more expensive options for hardware (and MHZ has hulls too) -
MHZ - https://www.mhz-powerboats.com/shop/en/?__shop=2&__redirect=1
MTC - https://www.modellbaucenterlorenz.de..._from_store=de
WD200 - WD200-Modellbau.de - HOME

I have a few build pics I have collected from some great builders that may be of help too - Build pics/tips from Germany - 1000 pics - ImageEvent

Thanks for your suggestions and links, I'm very grateful.

I'm becoming fascinated with rc boats since there's a dearth of places around here (Toronto) to enjoy running 1/4 scale cars; my car collection is shelf bound. On the other hand there's plenty of water (250,000 lakes)!

Thank you once again.

You have Lake Ontario at your disposal as well. I run my nitro boat in a spot out of the way behind Camp X at the Oshawa Whitby border. Easy access and no one bothers me at all. Great in the mornings or early evenings on calm days.

Thanks for this 'insider info', it's very good to know and much appreciated.
