How about R/C horse-drawn vehicles? A NEW hobby!
Will advanced robotics ever be applied to the scale-model vehicle hobby?
Imagine this:
Is it possible to invent a robotic horse in 1/22.50 scale?
That's G-scale for you model railroaders.
That pulls a scale-model wagon and has all the body motions of a living horse: all the grace of a living animal?
That has realistic gaits: walk, trot, pace, canter and gallop and that looks like a living horse in every detail?
That pulls a scale-model stagecoach as a team member with other such mechanical animals?
That is capable of navigating autonomously under computer control and following a scale-model layout course plotted on a map?
That has sufficient traction and power to climb about a 5-10% grade?
That is a radio-controlled model?
If the mechanical model horses are hitched to a carriage, it is conceivable that the wheels of the carriage could provide some power to move through its wheels. The carriage's fifth wheel could also have a servo for steering.
But it's desirable that the scale-model autonomous horses' legs move in a manner as do real horses which pull a vehicle.
Incidentally, what branch of science is concerned with advanced robotics?
The realistic scale-model horse pulling a carriage is my technology wish.
Why a horse-drawn carriage of this scale?
For realist MOVING, not static, G-scale model RR scenery.
