Sadly not many current modelers had the chance to know Ivan Munninghoff. What a great guy and outstanding builder. He was a T37 instructor at Laughlin AFB when I flew T38s there. He taught me a lot about our great hobby and was always was thinking outside the box. F102, Tacit Blue, and the F16XL were some of his achievements. One of these with his name on the canopy rail would be a fitting tribute of him.

Ivan would be smiling ear to ear and quietly chuckling.

Don't beat me up too much but if this is the ARF Pro version (no servos) this retail price is around $4500 (not including shipping) ....

At 1/6 scale, this is a HUGHE model. So if that is the target price, it's not unreasonable, considering just the landing gear this size is $2k.

I would have one in a heat beat if it were available. Any words on development, testing or production? What size turbine is it for?

While on one of my trips to the Fort Worth F-16 factory in the mid 1980s I was standing about 10 o'clock in front of the XL. They were doing some high power AB runups while tied down to the runup stand. It was a very impressive jet. I could feel the sound pressure in my chest. Then it compressor stalled on an AB light and nearly knocked me down.

Don't know much other than one is flying, and it is 1/6th, so that's a 160N+ airframe.

Why not both? Global reps "AeroJet" and "AeroFoam" so why not "AeroWorld"

Haha not Airworld, Aeroworld. It's Mike Lin's baby.

Seems like Aeroworld and Global go hand in hand.

Obvi, YOU, haven't purchased a jet this size in a while.

My last 1/5 size jet was $14k. Just the airframe and gear.

I'm with Falcon on this one. That is a nice price!

I'm just back from visiting Mike Lin at Global jet Club.

There were two F-16XL's in this shipment. Mike has the jet that was test flown by the factory and Ali has the other one. They flew the jet painted in camo then stripped it and repainted as shown above.

Mike indicates there may be some available in a December shipment. Need to check with GJC about availability. He hasn't set a price yet. Cockpit and ordnance options are coming.

Here is a video of the landing. I don't know what's going on with the long roll out but the landing was perfect.

The gear and brakes are from JP Hobby. He's putting an AceX 170 in his along with a Jeti radio.
