Default 2021 K140 scale project

Rc Brothers.

The time has come to do a scale project ( again ) many moons ago I build and owned, flew a TJ F-16 and also build 2 Fei Bao T-45s, also build but not owned a few TJ A-4s, Fei Bao Rafales, have a K140 that is currently flying my Boomer XL, I would like to use this engine for my scale project and want nice performance from this combo, #1 preference will an F16 since they are very easy to fly, build, maintain, has a good gear stance on the ground, easy to transport and so on, an F-86 also comes to mind since it also has a wide gear stance, T-45s, I'm over them, prefer single exhaust thrust tube, F-100 is also nice, I can build from wood and don't do glassing or painting.

There, suggestions?

Thanks.

Looking at the Fei Bao Rafael, it has the right weight and price.

I vote FeiBao Mirage 2000....I have no experience with it, I just like it and it's similar in style to the Rafale but you wanted single exhaust. 140 might be a touch on the smaller side for it though depending on preference.

I like the Mirage also but, I don't have an engine for it and out of my budget for the 2021 project.

Here is a vid from our times ( mid 2000's ) this is probably one of the Rafales that I build then, D. Presta, TJ demo pilot then flying, I think this one had a P120 ( 27 lbs thrust )

After watching the vid twice, I think my 27 lbs thrust engine will push it just fine, they come out at 27 lbs, 1:1 thrust to weigh is plenty, time to clear the room by selling some of the few prop planes I have 😁

Well you said you were looking for a home for a 140, 140 falls right in the middle of the suggested range for the Mirage (27-36 lbs).

But if you're anything like me you want to be at the top of that range - and if you're anything like half of this board you should be looking at a 90-100 size plane for your 140.

this was one of the best flying jet I have , sold it about 5 years ago and actually regret doing that because I think the smaller jets will come back the big ones just getting too big and harder to transport

I like this color scheme better, very visible, one thing I always liked about the Fei Bao is their paint jobs, very clear and bright colors.

I'm contemplating another option that just jumped infront of me yesterday, that option came about because of this thread, I got a call from long friend from TN, I will get pictures soon, we will see 😁

BVM 1/6th F16 would work but its not cheap. Might be able to find one used.

The JL/BVM F-16 may lag the punch with the K140, a K160 is best suitable for this F-16.

I think you'll find something for your turbine on this page. These are all the Skymaster in stock models via BVM. Some of them are on sale. I kind of like the T-33 or the bigger F-86.

Skymaster In Stock

I had a Xtremejet Rafale for years and it was a lot of fun on a P-120. I had to repair the main gear structural members a number of times, but wasn't a big deal. The jet does have a habit of tipping during semi-tight turns on the ground during taxi, which can nock off the missile rails. Something to keep in mind.

The T-33 looks nice.

I now will be acquiring a damaged Fei Bao F-15 some time in Jan-Feb, this jet is also suitable for the K140, I have designated this jet to be a project for the Fall in 2021, it needs lots of TLC but it is not impossible to repair, I will start a thread and post pictures of it when the time comes for the repair work to begin, I'm concentrating more on the Fei Bao Rafale as my 2021 scale project, a bit more research to be done here.
