Default First In Flight Jets May 26-30, 2021

That's right folks! The "First In Flight Jet Rally" is ready to get you guys back in the air and filling the Wilson skies. Same traditional dates. Online registration will re-open this week. http://www.<a href="https://firstinf...in flight jets
Many of you are still in the books and registered already. If you have any questions or need confirmations for tent rentals etc, just email me or call.
Couple of small changes. We are considering extending flying hours one hour in the afternoon this year with an hour delay in the morning. That would have our flying hours 8;00Am till 8:00Pm, still giving us 12 hours a day! Many of you requested this in years past so we thought we might give it a go.
Another change at this point. With current Covid-19 restrictions in place, we will not be inviting the general public in for our event. Pilots/ family/crew members only. Hopefully restrictions will lift enough that we can change that. It is important to FIF and the city to keep this event alive and going and we all felt it necessary to make this change for now. This has become an annual event for a large number of local residents and city officials, but we all felt inviting the public would put extra strains on meeting current restrictions, so for now we are going to focus on the main objective, Pilots and Flying!
Again, online registration should be open this week. If you have any questions just contact me vie email/phone. For more info regarding First in Flight 2021, just visit.

Probably need to clarify this as we've had a couple of inquires. Although we are (at this time) restricting the general public from attending, this event is absolutely open to All Pilots, Vendors, Crew members and family members attending with participants. In talking with city officials, we agreed meeting current covid-19 restrictions would be an easy task for us for all participants, but adding the additional numbers with the general public could pose an issue. Especially while keeping them in a close group in the viewing section of our venue. Aside from that, ALL of you are welcome!!!

Greg and I are excited to hopefully attend for the first time! We were both bummed when things didn't turn out so well last year with attending. Looks like I might even be doing a little coverage of the event for Model Aviation ... stay tuned!

lol,,,Yup. Its actually wayyyy out there, about 500ft, but photo makes it look closer. 11 years only one pilot managed to find it, and all he did was knock the lens off the top light!

Hey guys! Just an update on this years gathering. Registration is moving along nicely. Tents are building up fast so don't wait too long to reserve yours if needed. Also wanted to clarify the issue of our restricting this event to pilots, guest, vendors, staff. All registered pilots are welcome to bring family member, pit crew and pets. Vendors absolutely welcome!!!! Vendor family/crew members welcome as well. The restriction applies to the general public (spectators ) Unfortunately, at this point the restriction also applies to local R/C pilots who normally just come out to watch. The goal here is to facilitate our ability to hold this event for pilots and vendors, while still supporting the local economy. It was/is very important to the City of Wilson to keep this event on their schedule while still doing their part to meet current state and county Covid-19 protocol. With recent developments in vaccines and other positive steps being made, we are hopeful we will be able to allow other AMA members to attend as well, but only time will tell. We still have 3 months to go! Another change that may or may not occur. Depending on restrictions in place during our event, we may hold our Saturday night Pilots Banquet and Awards ceremony outside of the hanger. Possibly along pit row so guys can sit under their tents. This would help us avoid having a very large number of people in close proximity to one another for any length of time. Again, this will be a call made closer to the event. Aside from this, everything is On Go!!! Also want to take the opportunity to thank Dream Works R/C for sponsoring all five of our category trophies. They have always been so supportive of this event and have graciously offered to sponsor us again. Thanks DW! We're looking so forward to having you all back again. 2020 was as tough year on all of us. I know we're all looking forward to getting our events back up and going.

Registration really picking up. Looks like you guys wanna fly! Good News. NC's governor has eased up on Covid restrictions a bit more, now allowing 200 people or 30% capacity. This would allow us to hold the banquet inside the large hanger if needed. We're still holding off on that move for now. Also looking more hopeful we can allow AMA members to attend and watch.
We'll be making a cool announcement in a few days regarding one of this years auction items. Its a awesome to say the least.

Hey Guys,
Had a couple of calls in regards to adding Side Walls to their tents. That is all on the web-site. The box labeled Side Panels has a drop down "Select". Once you click on that it will give you the price and option to add to your tent.

We'll have a few new names on Vendor row this year.at FIF. We're looking forward to seeing CRX Turbines, JRPROPOand Electron Retracts up by the flight line!

OK Guys,

Important announcement. Tent request have been pouring in at a rapid pace and we're nearing our limit of available rentals.
Currently we have FOUR 30X30s and FIVE 20x20s still available on the web-site.
Once these are claimed, the web-site store will show an "Out of Stock" message for that selection.
If you find yourself needing a tent afterwards, you can contact me with your needs and we'll see what other rental arrangements are available.

Anyone wishing to sponsor FIF can do so through the web-site, or call me direct.

At this point, all awards have been sponsored. A big thank you to DreamWorks RC, A&E Jets, JPO and the First in Flight jet club.

No doubt, it's looking to be a big event!
