Default Best props Eflite Ultimate Biplane (Red and white)

Hi all,

I bought an eFlite Ultimate 3D Biplane. I pulled out the 120 grams of extra weights from the nose, changed the cheap plastic spinner to a nice brushed aluminum one and I'm running on 4s. I upgraded the motor to a 700watt prop drive max 47a. PROPDRIVE v2 3542 1000KV. I'm running stock Avian 60amp.

Plane is flying well but stock prop I think 11x6.5 doesnt seen ideal for 3d as it feels more like a compromise between sport and 3d. Anyone here done any prop changes to get better 3D? I was thinking a 13x4 or 12x4. Thx for any tips!

From my experience you'll be better off using larger diameter with lesser pitch for 3D flying. This is one of my design fun build "JF-BI" plane, a real dog to fly in wind, but rather enjoyable on calmer days.
Running on 4S, via Eflite 32 motor spinning 15x4.
(JF-BI fun run)

I can never get the right prop when needed, so I make my own to suit. For slow fliers I like large dia. with minimal pitch. Easy mod by minor reshaping using wooden ones, as in few examples bellow.
22x12 converted to 22x3.5 or 20x10 converted to 20x6 to get the optimum for my scratch build giants.
