Having entered this hobby a few months ago that is my question at this point. It needs qualification. I do read the instructions and manuals. Using LiPo batteries is dangerous. The vendors make this clear, and the RTR cars come with simple wall plug chargers. I have built models since adolescence and was in to slot cars for years. After getting a well made but entry level balance charger with low level, high level voltage, storage voltage, etc., etc., etc. I reread the instructions. I burned out my esc first time i plugged my car in from the new charger, and it popped like a small firecracker. I can figure out how to use a good charger sooner or later, but I would like to enjoy running my cars with something more than a wall charger. It has to have both leads plug into it it seems to me. I can push a few buttons right now, but if my choice is just the two extremes I will stay with the wall charger and hope my house doesn't burn down from unbalanced LiPos. Then I will re-apply for LiPo battery charger college.
