Default Black Horse Viper jet 2m

Nicely made, comes out really light for its size, 7kg dry and 8.8kg ready to fly with 2L tank and 100N turbine,

Thanks for sharing!
I also brought one of the first ones well over a year ago and hope to fly it soon. I was worried about the tailpipe diameter and strength with my Jetcat RX100 setup, but I see others are using 100 size engines. Any issues with yours thus far?

No all ok but there is a bit more smoke on shutdown than with bigger(and longer) pipe I have on MB339.
but in air all ok.
I fly on diesel, on kero there is no smoke.

added some cheap LEDs (2$ piece, generic 1W)

What about the landing lights are they included in the kit or you have installed them yourself?

Nice and bravo for maiden especially under that cold brrr.

Lower your flaps even more, you can safely go till vertically down, I fli like that but even 70° will get you slower than you had in this video.
wish you many more flights!

here are mine from today, 6 flights

Am have trouble getting my plane balance. The CG in the manual calls for 184mm from the leading edge.
Is this correct?

Thanks

Default Black Horse Viper Inlet Ducts

Currently building a Black Horse Viper 2M turbine version. How do the inlet ducts attach to the fuse? The instructions fail to note what adhesive to use if any and what parts glue to what?

Also will be running a KingTech 120. Is the thrust tube that comes with the kit sufficient?

They get glue, I used E6000 and CA just to hold in place until the E6000 cure. I have a KT80 G4 with a 125 oz tank moves it along.
I have a KT 120 in my pilot viper I had to add crow to get it to slow down with full flaps on landing. If your running a 120 I'd opt for a bigger fuel tank.

I was going to use epoxy but will look into the E6000. Thanks for the tip.
There is a split in the fuse where the front fastens to the rear. Does the inlet duct glue to both pieces or only to the rear piece?

You can use what ever glue you like nothing special needed.
The inlets get glue to the rear half of the fuse there's no way to glue it to the first of the nose.
I had issue bolting the nose to the rear fuse the threaded inserts didn't line up, Took a while to figure out away to bolt it, was only one inserts that through the hold thing off. In counter a few small issue with the build.
