Cleaning out the shop. Have the GS40 I had NIB for years, and finally put it on a club trainer. Ran well, and was just getting to full break-in when (being a trainer) the beginner I was teaching put it in. Broke the header to the muffler (the one that transitions to a round output). Of course, all sources for replacement seem to be long out of stock. Hate to throw it, since it is otherwise undamaged, and I have several potential planes that could use it.

Any aftermarket/some-other-brand muffler that might fit? Seems to be a 40mm through bolt pattern.

I found a Super Tigre 45 on eBay that had a through-bolt Macs tuned pipe on it, and at $50 I couldn't resist. It just came yesterday. I have a NIB Super Tigre 40 that is NOT a "through-bolt" design, rather it has a regular style (straight) header pipe with muffler. The latter engine is a true Super Tigre, made in Italy and the 45 I got off of eBay has "China" stamped on the backplate, so it's a copy, but it looks like a really good one. Anyway, the Macs pipe fits on this engine, and it might fit on your GS 40 as well, if you can find one. As soon as I figure out how to attach photos here, I'll edit this to include a photo or two.
