Help me with my old boat
Hey guys looking for help with my old boat it's been on the shelf for 15 yrs. Hull was maid off a mold my father got his hands on. Was powered by a homelite sx135. Boat measures 36x12 fairly heavy. In looking to upgrade the motor can anybody recommend a new motor/clutch?

As dwr9 mentioned ,a stock Zenoah might work . A good place to get one with the carb is https://www.gizmomotors.com/online-s...-marine-engine
You would also need a pipe or canister muffler which they also have or you can buy a used one.

Thank you for positing my pictures.
What performance boost will I see from the homelite to the zenoah?
Can I continue to run my water cooled thru hull exhaust or is a can/ pipe req?
Can any one school me on clutches for this motor?

Performance wise you would see a big difference. Another place to get boat parts is Welcome to Zippkits!, Model Boat Kits and Accessories!
Do you have 5" between your engine rails ?

For that short of boat, I personally would be looking at a mid-sized nitro engine instead. You would probably get more speed out of it due to a faster prop speed on a smaller prop and less weight to push.

Reminds me of something my Dad and I, did when I was a kid. Although mine is a Dumas kit made out of wood. I'll have to find it and post some photos of what's left to be done on it. Did you eventually get this operational? What route did you motor decide to pursue?
