Hi,
Have Schumo tow cables and wondering what is the preferred paint and color to paint the steel cables?
I have Tamiya XF gun metal, but not sure is this Tamiya paint is suitable for the steel wire.

I like to dip mine in black India ink. Takes a few coats but they come out really nice.

You can also metal prime them and paint them. Some have had success heating them up to burn off the oils on them before painting. I've tried it, it works OK. I am going to try using a bluing solution on my 1/6th ones for the KV-1 to put a base down before painting as they are quite large. I've also used Mr. Surfacer on the copper T34 cables with good success.
