P-47 D Pilot,
I am doing exactly the same thing. ZDZ 80 in the Ziroli P-40. I think it should be a great combination. The only 3-blades that I know of that perform efficient are the Mezjlik carbon fiber ones. When you paint them flat black with yellow tip they look pretty good. Selection of diameter and pitch is going to be a mystery until we try it. I was thinking 24 X 10 3-Blade. What are your thoughts?
Hey! Are you going to have it at any events this summer? Joe Nall...Muncie NATS....Muncie Labor Day Giant Warbird Fly-in...? We are going to have 3 Warhawks complete this summer that should be campaigning.

The Menz Ultra 3 in 26x10 works well on the single 80 -
the BUT is but any of the 3 blade props are less efficient than a two blade designed AND matched to the engine
We have run stuff from 24x10 to 28x12 with all kinds of exhausrt setups -
for best power - use a two blade prop that runs in low to mid 6000 rpm range -
A mejzlic 26x10 - is good setup

Well, I want to run a 3-blade for this scale plane. I know the 2-blades are more efficient, but I am willing to sacrafice a little to get the scale look. P-40's look ackward with 2 blade props on them.
Mike Dooley from RC Showcase wrote me and indicated that the MEJZLIK 24 X 12 - 3 Blade is an excellent prop. That seems like a lot of prop to me, but I know that the MEJZLIK is a very efficient blade. I am thinking that that would equate to about a MENZ 24 X 10 - 3 Blade standard because the blades are thicker and not as efficient.
