nitrous oxide systems for nitro cars
Has anyone heard of the nitrous oxide systems being tested on t-maxxes right now?
I heard that a company is actually very close to having an incredibly stable nitrous injection kit which
does little in the way of damage to the nitro fuel burning engines in r/c cars, and fits easily onto a t-maxx.
I've also heard that the kit is powered by a fourth (or third if you don't like reverse) servo and is valved so
as to have multiple uses per bottle. Anybody in here have any personal experience with this company or their testing?

whippets are real nitrous but I think its food grade nitrous if that makes a difference.
Theres a big question on whether or not nitrous or supercharging really work,if you search on the topic "Nitrous" you'll find a few threads on it where the Jag guy posted and there were alot of good points made.

nitrous and supercharers ar totaly diffrent....... a super charger wont work because the ports on a 2 stroke are at the same level. their is no resion that shooting pure no2 wont work.
the only prob is it leans out the motor so to compinsate you run 20% so you have enough lube!

this exact whole topic has been discussed many a times recently with the conclusion Jag Rc seems quite dodgy, also the Lazershop Dude is in the process of marketing a kit which also has questionable performance in my oppinion at the moment but only because it hasnt been officially made yet. the LazerShop version is guarateed to be better than Jag though and time will tell if it works well when sold. try looking up old threds its all discust there

Here we go again. First of all, you are right about one thing. Its
all BS till it works. Second, you guys need to read up on the
technology. There are basically three grades of N2O gas.....
:Industrial
:Medical
:Food Grade.
Ive heard about rocket grade but don't know anything about it.
N2O is 2 parts Nitrogen and 1 part Oxygen. The difference in
grades is the purity of the nitrogen. Its all like ninety nine point
something percent. Heres what you do. Go buy a mini hobby
welder (Microtorch I think) and replace the N2O oxidizer with
a whip cream charger. It will freakin' work the same. N2O is N2O.
Full size NOS systems have sulpher dioxide added for the sole purpose
to not be abused. It just makes it smell too bad to breath. Heres how it
works. Sea level, atmospheric pressure is like 21 percent oxygen. The
addition of N2O in the combustion chamber makes it something like
33 percent. Might not seem like much but it is huge. nodolarsnosense,
I just might send you a prototype. Do you have anything worthy?

Ya know if the maxx has dual exhaust out the rear ya can top off two lattes with cream and make more cash that way. Nice scam though.

RE: nitrous oxide systems for nitro cars
i have a question for you Lasershop, your setup here, does it require you to put a fuel nipple into the crank case? or carb? how do you plan on getting the N2O into the engine, without losing any, now, everyone uses these little Boost bottles.... and if you had a little NOS Bootle there.. and used up the NOS, then you would actually be left with a Boost Bottle... would you not??

Lasershop is right. Those are the 3 grades of nitrous and industrial is sometimes known as tech. grade.And..its all experimental till it works.Don't be so quick to call it a scam, guy.

RE: nitrous oxide systems for nitro cars
Its a two valve system. First valve screws onto the N2O
bottle (this is a secret) and opens/meters the gas. Then
the second valve is attached to the carb opening. It then
is opened at wide open throttle. Its like a sleeve and is
very compact (remember, I can laser cut all the protos
I want) and slick. Your air cleaner mounts to the sleeve.
It is hardly noticeable at all. You can still maintain your
crankcase inlet for your boost bottle. Again, this only
operates at wide open throttle. I really dont mean to
be so cryptic about the whole thing, and I have been
known to over-engineer everything. I just cant release
a product until I think it is perfect. Soon, soon.

RE: nitrous oxide systems for nitro cars
id love to be given a prototype, the usefulness/worthyness of puting it on my HPI rush would be questionable but i would do it for interest/coolness factor anyway. otherwise im sure i could get it installed in one of The Machines better cars happily. we would make a mighty fine video displaying its performance too.

I'd love a prototype also. I am willing to try anything.
I have a 2.5 maxx, if it is worthy enough.
If you want to give me a protoype just post and I'll give you my mailing address.

How about an X-Terminator with a ported .25? I will admit that I was one of the doubters of the merits of nitrous, but I would LOVE to be proven wrong.

RE: nitrous oxide systems for nitro cars
You guys crack me up. I used to own Supertracks Slot Car Raceway
in Fremont, CA. I couldn't believe how many "friends" we had back
then. Wonder what ever happened to them after we were forced
into bankruptcy? Anyway........ "nodolarsnosense", "Jarret " and
"nitrofan". I need to know EXACTLY what you have and the EXACT
outer diameter of the carb opening in decimal inches. Also whether
it is a slide or rotary carb. Email the info to me. A pic (of the vehicle)
wouldnt hurt. The chassis that is, not the body. Ill see what I can do.
Dont rush this, dont whine, its not ready just yet.
