Default RCS 140 - CHOKE ??

I have a RCS140 that I purchased from a club memeber. The engine has less than a gallon of fuel thru it. I mounted it today to test run, but could not get fuel to flow to carb using the choke. I remove the line to carb and fuel flow was un restriced from tank. After primeing carb by spraying fuel into throat it fired on second flip. Any ideas on why it will not pull fuel useing the choke?? This is my first venture into gasoline engines and after seeing how great this thing runs I definte want to keep it and get rid of anything that has glow attached to it.
Thanks in advance

I had the same problem with my RCS140 when I first ran it. After doing
some research on the newgroups, I found that this is a common problem
and is solved by closing the hole in the choke plate. For my RCS 140, I took
off the choke plate and soldered a small piece of thin brass plate over the
hole. This solved my problem. Sometimes a much smaller diameter hole
is drilled in the soldered on piece of metal.

Well did the plugging on choke plate and still same thing. I removed cover for the metering diaphram, minor pressure on it and using a piece of hose blow thru the line, without pressure on diaphram nothing. Is there suppost to be a spring between the diaphram and cover or not??

Guess if you want the correct answer you go to the person that know. Swapped Email and phone call with Mike at RCS Showcase. Minor fix and engine is purring like a kitten ( big kitten with sharp teeth). Thanks to all and to Mike double thanks.

Jim what I did, as per suggestion from Mike, removed carb and checked the gasket. Found that it was not major damaged but did show signs of flaking. Applied very thin coat of silicone, replaced carb, snugged it down and allowed silicon to setup, Tightened up carb and problem was gone. Now all I got to do is finish my plane.
