I am having a problem starting my ASP .91 with my electric starter. The prop has a heavy hub on it instead of a spinner, and the rubber cone just doesn't get a good enough grip on it to turn the prop. I could put a spinner on it, but I like the brass heavy hub and I am also using it for ballast. The starter motor is working fine, but the adapter just won't grip. Is there an adapter that is custom fitted for the heavy type hub so it will get good traction,or should I give up and install a spinner? thanks for suggestions.[>:]

Obviously I've tried that. The small hole on the back is too small for the hub. I probably need a cone specially designed for a hub if there is such a thing. Jim

Two options come to mind,
1. cut the front end of the rubber cone back to where the bevel is smaller.
2. cut the hole in the back of the cone larger. A replacement cone is not very expensive.
I certainly did not mean to insult with my comment. Sometimes the simplest things are what we overlook.

They also make a pink silicone cone that has a shorter flatter cone hole in it. I fly with a guy who uses them all the time on the heavy hubs. They seem to work better than the grey ones for him. I haven't found anything yet that works perfect. I assume you are using the grey rubber cone now. I don't know who makes them but your local hobby place should have them. Good luck Ron
